Question Anyone using Fuji S100fs?

I just bought a Fuji FinePix S100fs and I'm looking for pointers in things to avoid, tricks, etc.

Anyone else using the S100 or other FinePix S camera?

I've got a Finepix S100fs and love it ... except for one thing, whne shooting using RAW file format (Fuji call it RAF for some reason) I cannot enhance in Photoshop CS2. I have to open the RAW file in Picasa or Fujifinepix viewer and convert to a TIFF before I can "play" in Photoshop. Has anyone any other suggestion?

I don't have a S100fs but I love that camera. I was planing to buy it before I got my D60. I think it's a great camera, but it is over-priced. And I can't believe that Fuji still keeps its price so high! And it also has veery large RAW files. Mavis, maybe you should try to update your Camera Raw software. Just guessing.

I have this camera, it take's beautiful pictures. Just one thing to watch out for. The paint on the buttons ware off. I use this camera as my side kick. I've taken Great shot's with this camera. If I'm going to a all day event taking pic's all day it pays off because it's nice & lite. I never shot RAW with this camera though. Other wise it's a great camera.

I have a Fuji S100FS and a S9100. I love them both. They, for the most part, do the same thing, but are very different. I've taken great photos with them.

Default Sd - sd/hc

I have been using the s100 for some time now,
I have no Complaints at all and find this camera works well in all conditions,
I use RAF (RAW) 90% o the time and use a little program called s7raw
this is were i found it.

Raw picture

I had a problem finding my cd with fp viewer and raw converter. hence the info on s7raw.
this is nearly imposable to replace. So back up that cd i created an iso witch i have stored safe now for future use.

On another note Can anyone please help me out
I have 2 4gb sd cards formated FAT
and 1 32gb sd/hc card formatted FAT32

my problem is my camera will only use 4gb of the 32gb card before giving file read errors?
IS this a format problem a camera limitation with sd/hc or just a faulty card ie should I be able to use max storage space on this card..

have googled for answers wit no luck

it sounds as if the cards were formatted in the PC - try formatting them in the camera. I use 8 & 16 Gb SDHC cards with no problem.

Nice camera, isn't it?

The first thing to try is to update your Camera RAW - here's the link;

Adobe - Photoshop : For Windows : Camera Raw 3.7 update

assuming that you're using Windows.

If that doesn't fix it you can use the Adobe DNG converter

Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Windows : Adobe DNG Converter 6.1 update

which will give you DNG files you can open in Camera RAW.

And there's always RAW Therapee, of course - very good but takes some learning!
