Default Introduction Have Fuji - new to photography

I am a newbie when it comes to photography. I have taken a community college course in black and white photography, where you learned to develop and print prictures taken with an SLR camera. I recently purchased a Fuji FinePix S5200, one for my husband and one for me. I cannot find forums on the Fuji, like one can find on the Nikon and Canon at other websites, so I am hoping to find some Fuji users here.

I have an F30 also - great little camera which I use when I don't want to lug my big Canon DSLR around.

I'm also using the s5200. It's a great camera for the price, and I've found it helpful for learning different SLR techniques. So far, the only issue I've had is that I tend to have some graininess issues at any ISO higher than 100, even outside on sunny days. But as I have also taken some really nice and crisp shots, I'm convinced it's more of a problem with the person behind the camera not making the right adjustments, and not the camera itself.

Yay for Fuji

I got my first camera mid September of this year and absolutely LOVE it Great camera it is. It's a Fujifilm FinePix S9500.

One day I'd love to buy a Canon DSLR, but for now I think I'll be sticking with my baby... very happy with it!

Try taking photos in 3:2 mode. The graininess tends to go down a bit. But you have to be a bit more careful with composition.

Oh I have Fuji S5600(same as 5200)

I'm getting the s5600 for christmas (I think it is the same as the s5200). It seemed like the best camera I could get for the price. Has anyone got a flickr account with some cool s5600/s5200 pictures? I'd like to see what the badboy is capable of.

If it's not yet a done deal, you might want to swing up to the newer s6500 (aka s6000). It's a little bit more expensive (still really cheap for what you get), but has a wider and faster zoom lens, a bigger sensor, better ISO sensitivity, and generally better features across the board. Somewhat bigger, though.

Anyway, are you aware of Flickr's "Camera Finder" feature? See
http://flickr.com/cameras/ -- or specifically, http://flickr.com/cameras/fujifilm/finepix_s5600/ .

(PS: Fujifilm F20 owner, although I think I'm going to swap it up for the F31fd.)

It does look pretty good, but it is too late now. Besides I was already pushing it with the amount of stuff I was getting anyway. Thanks for the heads up though.
