hi,bran new to photograpgy and I just got the fuji s3 pro camera, I was planning on gettin into more newborn kids etc portriat photography, so I was wondering right now I have a 18-50mm sigma lens, well I'm not sure wht the promblem is but I am getting most of my pics blurry or over exposed. I've adjusted the apature and also the iso settings and inside pics even with light are either too bright or blurry, also the shutter speed seems to be super slow on second and then ok the next depending on light it seems but its in the same setting ( p mode). Anyhow from what I have read I may need a different lens, i was thinking about getting a 50mm nikkor 1.4 f/af d lens. what would be the difference between that and the 35mm one I plan to do mostly natural light style portriats. |

Re exposure:
See this tutorial, on this site: Exposure (1) A balancing act Re the lenses. (I am not a Nikon shooter) Different field of view: Try your zoom on 35mm anfd 50mm for a comparison. A F1.4 lens lens lets in almost twice the light of a F1.8 lens when used at maximum aperture. That means you can shoot at twice the shutter speed or 1/2 the ISO.
