Fuji W3 3D Camera

Fuji launched the upgraded 3D camera - Finepix W3.
It is the first mass market pocket 3D camera.
While the 'older' W1 is sold for $900, the W3 is sold for $300, and is with competition with the Sony 3D camera line, the TX9, TX10, TX100.
Unlike any other 3D camera it has two lenses far apart just like the human eyes.
The Sony has only one lens and cannot take still 3D photos (only 3D panoramic sweep).

What do you all think, is 3D more of a geek technology? Or a new way to capture a 3D world ?
Some photographers don't like 3D, as if it is not part of real photography. But turning a 3D world into 2D pictures seems less natural now isn't it?

Greetings all.
I'm a newbie to this site and was immediately attracted to this thread.
I've been into 3D (stereo photography) for over 30 years and recently bought a Fuji W3.
I use it daily as a 'compact' camera and carry it with me everywhere - work, holidays and for those moments when you always wish you had a camera with you when you didn't!
I belong to a couple of other photography forums, where I mainly concentrate on 3D.
That doesn't mean I don't dabble in 'standard' photography.
I pack a fair bit of hardware (as you'll see from my signature) and enjoy my photography no end.
I hope to get a fair bit out of being a member of this site.
