I'm looking for a slightly more advanced point and shoot for a college student to play around with. I don't want to spend much on it as I'm not sure how long the fasination will last; and I'm sure it will be tossed in the ol' duffel bag from time to time without much care.
I came across an add for a Fujifilm 12MP in a catalog the other day. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about it. It is a Finepix S2550HD. What caught my eye is that they say it has a full manual control mode; and I'm thinking the dslr style might be a plus if she really gets into it and we get a real dslr for her in the future she will be used to holding that style. I have a Canon so I know nothing about fugi, hoping there's someone out there that has experiance with this camera. Thanks! Karen

I read some reviews and they seemed to say that the image quality on the still photos is great. Some limits in the AV mode though. They also said that the video was not so great but she wasn't asking for a video camera anyway. I also realized that this model is fairly new too, that may explain why I was having trouble finding reviews on it! Thanks for the input, if I end up ordering it I'll try to get her to let me post one of her photos. Karen
