Red face Newbie with a Fuji S1730

Hey
I've recently bought a Fuji S1730 - I chose this camera for its great price and good reviews. However, everything in photography seems to revolve around nikons and canons... I'm a newbie in advanced photography but very keen to learn. I've started reading books and tutorials. I'd appreciate some expert opinions about this camera, any drawbacks, good to know info etc. Also wondering what size filter suits the lens if there's any?
Your comments will be much appreciated

Default Just got one of these myself

Seems to be fairly easy to use. All the manual controls still apply regardless of the camera (m on the dial). I recommend you download the full manual from the fujifilm website (http://www.fujifilm.com/support/digi..._manual_01.pdf), loads of helpful information on there. Not sure about expert opinions, but it seems to be working pretty well for me! Decent camera for the price, although the controls could be better

A quick ebay search reveals that it takes a 58mm lens adapter to add filters. Not something I'm into, but go nuts with that

hope this helps!
