Default Help With Choosing SDHC Memory Cards ...

I have a FujiFilm FinePix S2000HD camera, and would like to have a couple of high quality memory cards for shooting pictures and video at my son's Karate tests.

The last time I took pics, the camera was slow, and so I would miss a lot of good shots. Is this just the camera, or the memory cards?

I'd like to get 4GB and 8GB SDHC cards.

Suggestions? Thanks.

Hi,
Might be slow SD cards.
Normally on newer cameras with HD Video a SD with minimum Class 6 speed is required.

You can check your camera manual, normally there is a section where the manufacturer has a list of tested cards fo the camera. It will give something to start with.

Also the speed of transfer is in relation with the Size/Quality selected for the pictures.

Cheers!

I have my camera set for the highest quality images. I'm guessing that might be slowing the camera down when saving images?

It might be possible that it is high quality settings, you might check what sort of proscessing options you have set in your camera. I'm not familiar with that FujiFilm model. I did look it up and it seems to be able to do quite a bit.

One thing to try might be to set the resolution down, say 8MP from that max of 10MP.
As the previous poster says Class 6 speed or better SDHC cards would be best, especially for HD video.

There is a good listing here:

They don't have the brand I just picked up, ADATA, at a local MicroCenter, off brand but it was cheep and it's working great so far in my P100. There are Class 10's coming out now and Sandisk has some high speed ones without a Class number on them. The SD consortium seems to be pretty loose on specs.
