I had posted an image on a message board, next thing I know my photo is used in a publication without my permission...and they never contacted me which would have be very easy to do. It would have been like them taking a photo of mine that I posted here, they could have IM'd or PM'd or emailed me via the message board they stole it from.

What should I do?

Hi,
I am a web designer and I am now beggining to work on a Wedding- Photographer's website.

Besides the usual content managment system in which he will be able to create and manage galleries, the client asked for an application in which he could upload each evnent's photos to, and through that web application his clients (the bride and groom) will be able to watch their wedding photos and pick out their favorites which will go out to print. Then he (the photographer) will be able to send his clients' s selected photos straight by e-mail to the print-house, so they can download the selected picks right away and print them.

Do you happen to know if such a platform/web application/ CMS/ php code exists?

Thanks alot!

I've been a blog follower and occasional poster for a while but have decided to jump into the forum on this site. I'm trying to start earning some with my photography as I have found it to be a very expensive hobby as I'm sure many of you have.

Anyway, the website already did land me one gig, it was just through a coworker who heard me talking about it and asked if she could see it. Got a nice Christmas card and Headshot session out of it, not a lot of money but hey, its something.

I'd appreciate any feedback on the site. Has anyone else created their own website? Has it been successful? How? How did you market it?

Greetings All,

I was wondering has anyone ever done photographs for a wedding with a point and shoot, and if so how was the outcome? Meaning was the client happy or upset with the end result etc? I am wondering this because I love photography and I just brought an advance point and shoot not even a year ago for a little over 400 dollars. I have been looking at trying to build a portfolio to take my hobby to the next level but am not sure I want to invest in an SLR and lenses right now. At the end of the day I would like to build my portofolio and see where it goes from there, but I am not sure I can even request being a second shooter with anyone with my point and shoot or offer free services at someone"s wedding without getting laughed out of the building.

Thanks

Wedding photographer's shadow to build up portfolio?

I am trying to build up experience and a portfolio of both wedding photography and family photography. I did a search here and read some of threads on how to go about a model search, but I'm also wondering if anyone has any advice on how I can go about building a wedding portfolio. I am thinking about putting an ad on craigslist to see if there are any local wedding photogs that would let me shadow them and act as a 2nd photog in exchange for free PA work, but at the same time, I could eventually be competition for them in a tight market so I don't know if this makes sense. Any other ideas? I have zero friends or family that are getting married anytime soon and I can't imagine that anyone would hire someone to do their wedding with no portfolio to show, even for reduced or free rates. I am desperate for practice!

Thanks.
