Default Makeover at my Zenfolio site

Zenfolio released several new options this month and I have been playing around with them, giving my site a bit of a makeover.

I think I'm finally done with it, for now.

If anyone has time to check it out let me know what you think. There are still limits to what you can and can't do but there is so much more now than there was this time last year!

I think it looks clean and well organised. Lots of links to click on, and lots of things to read. I suppose this could be a good thing if you're somehow invested in your work, for someone who doesn't know you or have an emotional connection to Kansas it was pretty bulky. Content wasn't what you asked for though Site looks simple and easy to look through

Agreed, I like it. Simple, clean, stylish.

Personal preference: remove the extra info below the galleries. Does it really matter (to a browsing potential customer) when the gallery was created?

One thing I wish I could do with the slideshow (and I know this isn't possible -- I use Zenfolio too), is to click the slideshow and go to the correct photo in the correct gallery. You can have a click take you to the photo, but only if all of your photos are in the same gallery.

just a thought, but could you speed up the slideshow a little. it seems to be about 6 seconds? as a personal preference i'd like to see it moving a little faster given how short most hits on the site may be... just a suggestion.

That's strange, I'll have to ask at Zenfolio if they were having any problems today. What browser were you using? I wonder if that affects anything.

So you think too much text? I was thinking about seach engines and wanting to have plenty for them to pick up on. But I could work on that. I do then to ramble on.

You can remove the date and such?? I guess I've missed that option I'll have to go find that one! Thanks

I too would like to see them make a little change on the slide show so that you can link each photo to it's own page. Maybe they'll add that with the next round of updates!

Depends on how much you want to get across. When I did the copy for my site I felt like I wanted to cover all the bases and ultimately it was too much. When I cut my copy by about 70%, google analytics revealed the time spent on my site increased by roughly 30%...

my take on that was that it was too much to hold their attention, and it was probably an accurate assumption; when i visit other sites to stalk them, it isnt the music that turns me off, or gaudy design, it's how much work it is for me to read it and get a feel...

that's why i limited my gallery contents and cut my copy drastically. for me its getting my ethos and work across quickly before they 'x' out and move on.
