My friend told me that he heard that some ppl at his school were saying they need someone with a fast camera to take pictures of a basketball game for their yearbook. He said they were tryin to use like regular digital cameras i think. While they were saying this or announcing this my friend said he was thinking of me the whole time since i have a fast camera (canon 40d, 6.5fps). So if he mentions me and they want me to take pictures of a game how much should I charge?

How much will it cost you (include any travel expenses, shooting time, ticket price, processing time)?
If you are unsure about the cost of the time, start out little over minimum wage (you'll probably want quite a bit higher). Your charge should be at least your cost! So if you need to spend 2 hours taking the pictures, 1 hour getting them uploaded/edited, you use $5 in gas to go to the game, and get in free then your absolute lowest price (I'm going to assume $10/hour which is dirt cheap) should be $35. If you actually value your time and want a profit it would be more like (3 hours*25 + 5 + 20 profit) or $100. In the end you need to figure out your costs and at least meet your costs! You don't want to go out and lose money doing work for someone! Last edited by chills42; 01-21-2010 at 03:35 PM. Reason: clarification |

Don't forget to put them up online for the players and parents to purchase prints
