Talking Just got some images accepted to Getty!

Been shooting just as a hobby for a while now and mostly taking pictures of my daughter and various local landscapes and putting them on flickr. Recently though since Getty has partnered with flickr I thought I'd give them a try. Submitted a few and they came back and selected 11 of my photos. I know there are a lot of people on these types of forum against stock but hey if it weren't for Getty these pictures will still just be on flickr doing nothing. So now I might have a chance to have some of my picture help pay for my hobby. Which would be cool.

I'm in no way against stock/microstock but take a look at the contract. From what little I have read, Getty sets the price points for all the photos, so while you may get $X one month for a photo, you might get $Y the next month (and yes, X and Y can be as low as $0.00)

Well...... right now they are sitting here getting $0.00 a month so even if I get $1.00 a month I'll be ahead LOL

That's exactly the way I'm seeing it right now. If my shots make nothing, then I'm out $0.00. If they make even $0.75, that's 75cents I didn't have before.
