Default Gallery Exhibition - Help/advice? (Prices for prints/canvas/framing too)

I'm found myself with an opportunity to display 3 prints at a local gallery. It's all rather scary, I need to pick the shots and get them printed and framed.

So firstly, any tips or advice on the event?

And secondly, I'm looking to get two prints and maybe a canvas printed, they both need to be strung in order for them to be able to be hung in the gallery.

So really I'm looking for pricing of

a) Large good quality prints
b) Canvas
c) Framing

I've started looking online but anywhere else that people use (I'm based in the UK).

Thanks!

Honestly, your best bet is to look up "large format photo printing" in one of your local metropolitan areas. You will get the best service and quality from a local facility that specializes in that kind of work. You want to be able to walk in and actually talk to a person, who does the actual work, about the results you want to get. You can also actually see jobs going out too, and see what they produce. While online large print services are generally just fine, if you are doing gallery stuff, you need a real person at a real lab standing in front of you. "Jacko's Camera and Photo" doesn't qualify. The really good stuff is done on machines that are ten feet wide and cost more than a luxury car.

Also, I don't know of any facility that does both printing and framing in house. They are two different specialties. One may be able to refer you to the other though.

Hi,

I think that best to way search the market is through searching the print agency in your area is online (i mean to say through search engines.)

You can try local business search or classified too.

Thanks for the reponses.

So you're suggesting a good local printing lab where I can walk in and see the product with my own eyes kind of deal? I'll see if I have time to get that sorted.
