I just did a quick glance around. As I would if I were looking to have photos done for my kids. When looking for people to do photos I always look at the variety of their shots. Is it just me or are your shots mostly of the same kids? For me I would like to see a better sampling. Can you offer to do some free shots for some additional families so you can build your portfolio more? I don't remember where I read the article recently, most likely on here though, but it was about building your portfolio by offering free photos then moving to small charge but letting people know that this is just short term.

Like I said nit-picky I know. I plan on first taking pictures of friends kids to get a good sampling so that someone looking doesn't see that I only have 6 different kids photos knowing full well 4 are my own..

Yes I am still building my portfolio. The same kid is my daughter... So that might be why I have allot of her. Over the past year I have done 4 children's shoots not including my daughter, 1 new born shoot, and a wedding. I do sitting fees for free this year. That is how I am pulling people in. the years before I did every thing free for friends. I guess I could include some of those images. Really probably the reason i have mostly my daughter is because i really like her photos I really can not any more do everything for free I have expenses every year webspace, business license, zenfoleo, flickr just that equals around 330$ a year..... Then add all the equipment I bought this year. I am majority in the red. To keep my business I need to make a profit in 3 years.

I will work on adding more of a variety of shots to my gallery. I was just trying to get something up. Thanks for noticing.

I did a small skimming around. My problem is the pricing list. I don't like how it is a PDF file and opens adobe reader to see it. That takes a while on my computer (even though it opens in the browser) and adobe is always telling me to "update" it. It's just my opinion though. Otherwise, it's great! I love the gallery, nice and smooth, good job.

Thanks. It could be because I made the pdf in a mac. I have since modified it and added a price page instead of the pdf. Brian Hursey Photography

I have to agree that Flash sux. It's so 2001...big flash intros turn most people off and Google still can't index Flash properly. But to display your shots it might be fine to use, but I would try and put some text on your site too to get some Google love. Write a few articles and get them up there.
