Default contracts for any events...

I am considering taking pictures for events as a side job (yet another of my many side jobs) and I just got done reading the commentary about wedding pictures.

would anyone be willing to show me a copy of the contract they use? Or could someone point me to a location where I might be able to find a contract that would suit my needs? I plan on this contract to cover ... well everything. Weddings, Birthdays, baptism, carnivals of midgets(lol), anything in general.

I'm concerned about ownership of the image, and what the customer is getting. I don't want to provide all the unedited and cleaned up pictures, (unless they want to pay for those) but I could see a bundle of small (4x6" 1200x1600) rez. images.

The book Legal Forms For Photographers is a good start and comes with a CD of forms that you can use as they are or customize.

On an unrelated note, unless my math is off, which is quite possible at the moment, 1200x1600 does not equal 4x6 but rather 4x5.333333333333.

Business and Legal Forms For Photographers, by Tad Crawford.

A 1200x1600 pixel image could be printed by a lab like Mpix as a 12x16 wall print at 100 ppi, 100 ppi is Mpix's minimum print resolution. They will refuse to print an image that is at 99 ppi or less.

If you don't want event clients printing much bigger than 4x6, size them to 400x600 pixels.
