Default Gallery Wraps: Where/Who/How Much!

Hi all,

Had a request from a past bride for gallery wraps of 3 of my 'general' Bahamas shots.

Anyone have any recommendations for where to get these done?

The client is looking for 3 19x19 prints - I checked MPIX (I don't know anywhere else) who can do them for $105 each - what would be a good price to sell them for?

Never had anyone ask for this sort of stuff before - I really don't know what markup to add on, and have no idea where to get the actual prints done! (preferably in the US as that's where they are based - I won't even see the finished product as I'd need to ship direct to them)

Any advice welcome!

Ben

I had a very large (almost 4') panorama done as a giclee print (gallery wrapped) by americanarteditions.com cost was a bit over $100. I was satisfied with the results (shortcomings were mostly mine).

I mainly use mpix or millers. What program are you using to retouch your photos? If you are using Photoshop ask millers what their color profile for their printer is then set that in photoshop so that you will both be on the same page. And this should go with out saying but it is important to calibrate your monitor.

I use WHCC and mark up a bit over 100 percent.

Thanks guys - I was thinking or around 100% as the markup.

Will go check them all out and see which I get the best feel from!

Bit worried about the calibration aspect, as I have no tools to do this with, and no real idea what I'd be doing if I did...

Maybe time to invest in that ColourMunki that's been sitting on my Amazon wishlist for the last year?

Calibration is critical to any printing. That said, most of the labs mentioned above offer color correction services for reasonable fee.

pixels2canvas is by far my favorite for gallery wraps. Sign up with their artists program with a tax id number and get their artists discount!
