My conclusion from this thread is that it's indeed very hard to sell stockphoto's online. And if you are already selling them online, there's not much money to earn in this business. So either you take photo's for the fun or you specialize on wedding /event photography.

haven't we told you over and over that you need technically perfect shots?

Is that really what you think photography is? either a hobby or wedding/event?

Istockphoto has a photo limitation. This is the reason why I don't use istockphoto.

I would like to try out stock photo sites in the future so this thread has been really interesting to read.

I've read a bit about micro stock sites and from what I can gather it seems to be a game of numbers, the more you have the better chance you have and all that. But you are talking a lot of photos to do that and I imagine it would take a while to build.

The more I read about it though the less daunted I feel. I better get shooting!

christmas stock-8487_filtered

blueberry muffins and a black

The DOF has to BE DELIBERATE!!! not an oops... composition has a lot to do with it also.. as does the WB ( needs to be perfect).. focus has to be meaningful and does the subject.. and also needs to be something that people want.. or need ..

This is something I came across a few days ago and was really fascinated by. He explains it all really well and has experience like any of us would have. I am thinking of trying it out myself!

I will forgo the stock photograph sites as I don't think what I take photographs of would interest them. I am seriously thinking of having a show in the near future of my best shots. I have to go look and see who has done that and if they have tips.
