Question What should I charge?

I'm taking prom style pictures for a local theater company's fundraiser. The theme is 80s prom and I will be taking standard prom pictures.

I was going to try and make money by selling prints but I'm not sure what to charge.

I can get prints off of mpix.com for pretty cheap ($2 for an 8x10 and $. 29 for a 4x6 for example).

I was going to shoot on a tether so people good get a quick preview of what the shots would look like before they bought them.

Any ideas for what seems reasonable?

Thanks!

Since its a funraiser make sure that you donate a portion to the fund. I am about to do the same thing. I am gonna charge $4 for a 4x6 and $10 for an 8x10. So for every $10 earned, I will give then $2...I am giving the charity 20% of the cost. Like you, I can get them done pretty cheap. And people will be more willing to purchase the prints.

I am donating the money b/c what a cheap way to get my name out there AND make money. And of course on the back of the picture my company name and phone number is printed...
