Default proofing web-sites

Hi,

I am wanting (ideally) a site which will allow me to upload pics from a session so that clients can choose which they would like printing. I still want to manage the ordering/printing and delivery myself (obsessive about print quality!), so just the hosting is needed. Problem being, I am wanting to store each clients pics on the site in a secure password-protected folder. Any ideas people?

Many thanks,

Mark

smugmug will let you do that.

not sure about what other services are out there. i think zenfolio does the same thing.

others will pipe in with their favorites though.

If you have the resources, you could set up a photogallery on your own server space.

Indeed I can do this (I use Moonfruit), but it's very messy through them unfortunately on the security side of things, and from what I understand, you cannot setup different passwords for different folders unfortunately.

I thought I had checked out Smugmug, but will double-check (as I said originally, I only want the proofing hosted, not the additional services).

Many thanks for the responses...

It all depends on how you do it, and on what you're using.

If you have the different gallaries on different pages then you can just set up that page as password protected.

Unfortunately not the case with Moonfruit...your pretty much stuck with their tools and 'features'. You can 'allow membership' to clients, but the restrictions are applied across all pages, whereby you end up with each client being able to see not only their own gallery but those of other clients too.

Then don't use Moonfruit? Probably not something you want to do since you paid for it though.

You should still be able to get into your files online though and add a password for a page.

As Oldwolf states SmugMug will allow you to do that.

PhotoBiz also allows you to do this. PhotoBiz has some nice options for setting up flash web sites, client viewing etc. It may be more along the lines of what you are looking for.

lol...that would have been an option if I hadn't paid this years subscription, but hindsight is a wonderful thing. Pretty much why I am asking for people's advise, as I know I cannot do what I would like to do through my current Host.

very much appreciated...I will check them both out later as I am at work at the mo, and these sites are firewalled from here.
