Default Newborn shoot in 30 minutes!

I am just waiting for a client to show up at my house for my first newborn shoot. I'm a little nervous, but believe it will go ok. I just hope I don't forget some cute pose I want to do. I made a sort of list. I will post some pics after...stay tuned!

You'll do great! I can't wait to see the pics. I'll be attempting my first newborn shoot in December for practice and possibly portfolio building!

Wow - I would love to see both of them!

Lori J - what sort of set up do you have at home? I was thinking of trying new born BUT was nervous about location...

WOW... Do you have a newborn shoot in 30 minutes, or you have a 30 minute timeline? If you have a 30 minute timeline, I envy you! lol My last photoshoot for a newborn took 3 hours...she was only 8 days old though.

Anxious to see the pics!

ok, so it has taken this long to get back online to tell you how it went. What a busy day. Anyway, it went pretty well. She was very well behaved for a 3 week old. lol My lighting worked well, no real problems or issues. I have got to get a taller background frame, the dad was almost as tall as the background! Here are a couple of shots. Let me know what you think and thanks for the support.

They look good - a real cutie. Only things I notice are some shadows from the light and some chopped limbs. But color and exposure look great, and she's definitely cute!!

I was thinking exactly the same thing. Did you get one where her arms are in the frame? The lighting is a bit off in the second one but it is still adorable!!

yep, you are correct. That is going to take some practice keeping everything in the frame. Babies move you know! ;p Here is one of my favs.

Pat, I am currently using 2 SB-600 flash with one on a light stand with a shoot-through umbrella and the other on a light stand with a diffuser. Very simple setup. I have a black sheet I ironed and put up and used a folding table to drape the bottom of the sheet over to lay her on. It works ok for 1 or two people, that's it.
