Default My first proper portrait shoot was...

...a huge success! I've even got print orders
L2b

What a buzz - if anyone's thinking about doing this, just go for it!

Here are the ones I consider the best pics. Please fee free to critique them or make crop recommendations etc on flickr.

The kids were great & so photogenic. We had less than an hour in the end and went to a forest near their house. I had so much fun and as the mum wanted 'natural' shots we just played around. I took lollies, flowers and hula hoops. I took 200+ photographs.
I've learnt so much about photoshop by editting them too.

Thanks to those of you who gave me tips. I just wish I'd followed the one about shooting RAW as well as jpeg as I might struggle with file sizes given the required print size (see below), but that's a whole other thread.

The mum has ordered 6 large prints & may want more before Christmas!
4 20x16 inches
2 (maybe more) 8x10 inches

I can't believe it was less than a week ago! Can't wait until the next one...I just need to get a client first

Congrats on your first paid shoot. Now you'll go into the next one with more confidence.

Thanks. Yes, I think I'll be more confident next time. I was so worried about letting the mum down, but I had an amazing hit rate for me (about 70 pics) and really struggled to shortlist for editting.

Thanks lputman.

I have a family shot and a castle request off the back of this already

I've really got to think of a business name & get a web site sorted.
