Question Comp Card for a male model

Hi all.

Here's the scoop.

I was recently contacted by a friend of a friend who is looking to have a comp card done. I have never done this kind of work (I've only shot portraits of my friends successfully in studio and on location).

I want to do it but I am not sure how to begin. What kind of questions should I be asking? Should I source someone to do makeup and hair? How much should I charge? Is there a typical process that goes along with this kind of thing?

Does anyone know of any resources for modeling photography so I could brush up?

Also is it worth buying and creating a backdrop out of seamless paper for this assignment?

Thanks!

Check out www.modelmayhem.com for ideas

It's really no different than taking portraits except you will want to vary up poses and clothes a bit more. You can ask him if he has a make-up artist (MUA) he wants to use, but that should be at his cost.

Model shoots should be fun...at least I think so. Check out Model Mayhem and see what others are doing and go from there.

Good luck!
