I use Mpix...they are great! Excellent quality and super fast shipping. Plus, they will do color adjustment for you if you ask them to.

I've had great results with mpix.com and will do plenty more business with them in the future.

I've had a so-so experience with imagekind.com. I had something printed + framed. It arrived quickly and looked great. Unfortunately, whoever packed the frame had the greasiest fingers I've ever seen. The frame was covered in finger grease. It's been a couple of months and I'm still finding greasy spots. Ugh!

Well I finally got around to pulling the photos from the cardboard..and lo & behold the paper is not Fuji Pearl but Kodak professional metallic, but had I read a little better on their site I would have seen that that is what they spec. I still like the prints mind you..

I knew professional photographers had their photos printed at pro shops and can someone tell me the difference of getting photos printed at one of those businesses as compared to ,say, the Walmart photo lab or a local drug store. I usually use Walmart, they use a nice luster finish. I am trying to create photos the best I can and there is so much to learn. Thanks

Default It depends

On what you are going to do with the photos. The pro shops will use a archival type photo paper that has a longer fade resistance (up to 100 years) if you specify that as well as better color representation. While Wal-mart and the like usually use a good photo paper, it doesnt hold up as well as far as as being fade resistent. And the pro shops can color correct if needed..

I use mpix.com, adorama.com, and smugmug.com. I use the local ritz camera store in my town for quick 4x6 proofs.

I have been a regular at Shutterfly. Printed several 4x6 prints, few posters, photobook. Always satisfied and happy with them. Tried few test shots with Ritzcamera (online) and they came out good too. Recently tried Mpix with their metallic paper for my poster print and it came out very good.

Thanks guys, Walmart uses Fujicolor Crystal Archive paper. I checked it out and this paper is supposed to be fade resistant for 60 years too. The real difference is they don't offer color correction. They offer a luster finish that looks really nice too. I will probably try Mpix for a portrait though just to see the difference. Thanks again

I wonder if that is dependent on where you live, I belive the ones in my area use Kodak paper (since you are printing at a Kodak kisok), I dont think Kodak would take kindly to them using Fuji paper

I will have to re-check and see if they have changed vendors since the last time I looked..

I asked Walgreens what type of paper they use since they can print poster size as well, and was told they use Kodak paper..

I don't use the Kodak kiosk. I upload the photos to their site and order them that way. Their lab printer uses Fuji paper. They do a nice job too.
