my wife got our photog and i wasn't in that side of the planing of the wedding and this is the kinda CRAP we got .(photo below)... not sure if this is out of focus or camera shake. and my wife paid him 1,700 bucks (puke)

so i hope for 2500 you get some good images. i mean i wouldn't mind paying 2500 if you got some realy nice photos and what not.... and since someone else is paying for it..... who realy cares about price hehe !! im sure its to late now to argue for digital immages so just spend the extra 500 bucks and get some realy nice stuff done. enjoy

That's camera shake.

That looks great compared to what our low budget photog supplied us many years ago. The in-laws arranged the deal. Our shot like this was in front of a kindergarten bulletin board full of crayon drawings!

Well, as it turns out the price was like $2345 for 5 hours of shooting and our choices of prints that will fill this 30 page album. More prints after that are extra -- which seems fair.

However, she does not offer any sales on digital prints on CD. I would really like to get some on CD to share with friends and relatives over email and the internet (and she photographed with a digital camera). What is a fair price request for a CD with prints since she has no posted prices for CDs?

Also, she claimed to burn some earlier prints for us on CD. Both discs showed no data when we put them in our Windows computer. She burned them on a Mac. Does anyone know if CDs burned on a Mac cannot be read on a windows machine? I didnt think this was the case...

anyways, thanks for the help!

Mac/Windows doesn't matter. I've had that happen once or twice before, it's just a fluke. I'd just bring her the discs back and ask for another copy.

Depending on the program she used it could make a difference. I've had it happen in reverse. I burned a slideshow on a PC and my clients couldn't view it on their Mac.

another update, she shot the whole wedding and reception and the proofs she provided for us to review were 203 photos. Just wondered how standard this number was.

The album included in the price should allow is for 10 8x10s, 20 5x7s, and 30-40 4x6s.

I just wanted the CD to have those 60-70 images, but she is not very computer savvy perhaps. If you prefer to use a Mac thats fine, but if there are any chance of issues with sending your clients proofs on CD, you should use a PC to burn them to disc.

Macs running OSX only burn cross-platform CDs, so her Mac and her skills are not an issue. Bad copies can occur w/ Mac or PC. As someone said, just ask for new CDs.
