Default Engagement Job

Hello everyone, I'm scheduled to go take photos of this couple, and some with their children this Sunday! This is what they are requesting:

Quote:
I would like to get a few shots at the house (without kids) my fiance built a chopper and named it "sweet melissa" I would like to get a few shots of that with us and with a hot rod he built as well. Then head to ______________ I don't know if you are familiar with the park but it has a beautiful windmill playground picnic tables and a short walk to beach. It is about 20-30min from our house ____ I have attached a picture of the windmill. The kids are all older youngest 10 oldest 24 so you shouldn't have any problems I hope! lol
Their overall goal is to produce a slideshow with these photos I'll be taking to show at their engagement party coming up soon. I'm a bit nervous, seeing as this is my first official job, and their paying me $250. So I'm a bit worried out the outcome of my photos. I've never been to that park before.

My equipment is as follows:
Canon 18-55mm Kit Lens.
Canon 70-300mm IS USM Lens
Canon Rebel T3

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should approach this photoshoot? Or how I might prepare? Or any suggestions on how I should plan out this shoot?

Thank you!

Sounds like a hell of a lot of work for $250.00.
At the house, inside or out? as that little popup flash won't help you inside with the slow lenses you own.
Also find out how they are going to use the images besides a slideshow? To send out with cards, Facebook? You could probably pin them down and ask for more money.
Did you sign a contract? If not. put together one and add: "Thank you for respecting intellectual property rights. These images are for your personal viewing only among immediate family and friends and may not be printed, published, shared, or re-used in any way without written permission from the Photographer." No third party usage. If you violate the intellectual property you will be liable for: actual damages, loss of income, and profits you derive from the use of these images, and, where appropriate, the costs of collection and/or statutory damages up to $150,000 (USD) or MINIMUM USAGE PER IMAGE: $300.00. For questions or permissions, please contact:

Why, if not, you'll see those images all over the place and you won't get an additional penny.
