My best friends mother has asked me if I can take some still life photos of yarn for her crocheting business. She basically wants to be able to give photo thank you cards to her customers.
I am not sure what to charge for this or how many photos to give her or any details. I haven't been asked for anything like this before.. So here is what I have so far written up and I was wondering if someone can tell me if this is good or give suggestions or pointers on it. For $350 I will use studio lights and backdrops. I will stylize photos for different occasions such as Christmas, birthdays, fall, etc.. After taking the photos I will edit them and present at least ten photos to choose from. Changes can be made if needed. After receiving your approval, we can choose which will be sent for printing. You can have just a few or have them all printed. You will receive a disc of the photos with a limited photo release. $200 - I will produce four photos for each season. For lighting I will use any combination of available light, wireless camera flash and light modifiers. I will edit and present two versions of each of the four photos and you can choose which you like best. After receiving your approval, we can choose which will be sent for printing. You can have just a few or have them all printed. You will receive a disc of the photos with a limited photo release. Printed material is a separate charge. |

Option 1:
$350 10+ photos, edited for the seasonal looks CD Option 2: $200 4 photos (for each season, thats 16 photos), x2 edits. CD You're working more and getting less in the second option. I think your "packages" are lacking. Get more specifics from your customer before you move forward with any kind of options or suggestions.
