Hey, I have my first bridal show this weekend and I was wanting to get a little advice. Are there certain tactics or conversations I should start out with to grab the bride's attention? I have a nice booth, but I'm a little nervous about the first interaction to get the bride in my booth. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks. I plan on having an ipad and a 25" monitor with photo slideshows on them. I will also use the ipad to display my price list. I opted not to print a copy to hand out as it was too much money. It's on my website so they can see it there.
I really need to book a couple shows from this. Although I have a ton of weddings booked this year, lately my efforts haven't yielded many results. Hope this is a change from that. I also thought about offering a bonus print credit if they booked the day of the show or even in Jan. |

+1 don't be pushy. Get up, look at what they are wearing/holding and ask them questions. If they have a Charlotte Hornets baseball cap, talk to them about basketball. Compliment them, but not with cheese and try not to ask what everyone else is asking. I'd go made if 100 people asked me the same question. Show an interest in them, not just their wallet and wedding day. Be someone nice to speak to, laugh and joke, don't be serious (but don't be a clown), take an interest in their kids, don't ignore the man - often he has a big say in the money sourcing.
Women, generally, buy products based on emotion, men on practicality and logic - bear this in mind. (unless they are gay men, then it's all fluffy buttons and things that look nice lol) The worst people I've seen at shows are either really pushy, or they just sit behind a desk. Above all, be honest, genuine and unfront. If you don't know something, never blag it, tell them you don't know but you'll find out for them and get in touch (get their details). And when/if they say "that's not very good, you don't even know that" tell them that you would happily lie to them but you'd rather make sure they got the right answer/product for their needs. HTH Quote:
... if you can, use your camera, take their photo and print it on the spot. You can use a watermark to overlay you contact details onto the print. It's important to get people involved

You have to talk with and approach people being yourself. If you're not great at sales don't try to be someone you're not. Show them your work, and tell them why you love what you do. Passion is your best sales tactic. Have a drawing for something to create a buzz. Something you can afford to give away, but not a whole wedding or anything drastic. I would suggest trying to get people to commit to scheduling a free consultation.
