Question Greeting Card Printing and Questions

Hi All,
This is only my second post but I'm a consistent reader of the site. If this was asked before please excuse me but I haven't found it yet.

I have a few friends who are asking for my photos on greeting cards. I've looked at snapfish and shutterfly. I'd like a site which will put the copyright symbol and business name of the back of the card. I'd also like envelopes that fit the cards.

Have any of you had luck with these sites or similar ones? Were the colors true to the original?

As a side question: Have any of you had luck in selling something similar?

Alot of questions, I know, my brain and mouth runneth over.

Thanks so much, Mduff

I make my own xmas cards each year and I have them printed through shutterfly. During the holidays I can get it quite cheap. Their cards are quite sturdy and well printed. I have only used the 5x7 cards. The colors were true, but I also turned off the auto correction and have my monitor calibrated. As for printing the copyright, in the past it was never an option. Their fonts didn't recognize the copyright symbol. They do allow you to place a picture and/or text on the back. I solved the copyright symbol problem by making a photoshop file with the copyright symbol and my name in it and then making it into a jpeg. I attached the picture to the back page. The only problem you may have with shutter fly is that at the bottom of the back of the card they put their logo. Hope this helps. Sorry but I can't answer the selling part because I never tried to.

Mpix.com. MUCH better quality than snapfish or shutterfly and they'll put your info as well. And yes, you can get envelopes.

ETA: They won't put their logo, either.

I actually print my own cards using stock cards from the craft store (they come with envelopes) Super cheap if I use a 40% off coupon with them (50 cards for around $10 with coupon). I print on an Epson WorkForce 633 with good success.

I use a template I developed for my cards into which I simply drag and drop the image I want into the right template (landscape or portrait). The template has my logo, name, and email address on the back, so all that is left to do is to change the name of the image on the back of the card. I get my bags from ClearBags.com.

Works out well for me because, while I have a lot of images on cards, I don't print a large batch of any one image.
