For the most part yep...

Costs had better figure into the price of the photo, even if you only sell the digital..like any other business, if you dont know your costs, how do you know what to price it. I always figure in the cost to produce when I sell one...it's the price above that point that is so hard to figure on..because that becomes more personal and more market driven..and name driven..

Interesting, that goes against everyting I was taught in my business classes, so does that mean that the car I want will go down in price dramatically if no one is willing to buy it at the posted price..?
And if you dont know youre cost, how do you know if you are making a profit or taking a loss on every sale. I agree that if nobody wants it, it doesnt matter the price or the cost. Photography is bought on emotion..if it doesnt strike a cord with the person it wont matter the price.

Yes, if it is a dust collector then it will in order to get it out and minimize losses and free up floor space at your car dealer. Will they be happy about it? No, will they eventually do it? Yes because they will first cut down on their margin and at some later point try to reduce losses...
Economy 1on1 only goes so far, keeping the thing on display has to go into account as well and at some point just it will get to expensive to just have the thing sit there and incure costs, so they will get it out of the way and this will most likely be done by price adjustment.

Oh and I would like to see the real real calculation of your cost, I have an actual real business plan for photography and boy I can tell you, most people here won't believe what you have to take into account. People think of lots of things but the basics such as ROI get left out, so do taxes and other stuff but they can make up the lion part in costs.
