Ya I may do that latter this summer. My wife made me adjust my pricing slightly I removed the print credits and put package 1 at the price I currently had. We got in an argument about it.. As said above arguing with your wife is not a good idea.

I wouldn't even bother with your package one. That's just way too low and clients don't get anything tangible other than you taking their photos and seeing them on your online gallery.

Your package 2 should be the starting point.

You also don't have a la carte pricing on your website for your prints that I could see. That should be there so people can add orders on top of your packages, esp since your starting packages 1 and 2 don't have any prints included.

I don't see why print credits is a bad idea when you are incorporating that into your pricing. So if you want to give print credit on your package no 2, price that in - make it $120 instead of $100. There's no loss there out of your pocket, but gives security with clients knowing they will get something out of the deal.

If print credit is really a no no for you and your wife, then still do a starting package with at least one print or two just to whet your client's appetites. Once they see a print, they will realise how cool it is and will order more.

My photo lab has a minimum order requirement and so I looked for a way to make sure that I can incorporate that within the package. Hence, I did print credit ensuring that I can meet my minimum print orders.

I find that my clients, so far, ordered lots of prints on top of the print credit. Cause they know they are getting prints and feel more free to add some more. Since they are getting some for 'free'.

That's my take on it, anyway.

Regardless of how you decide, don't forget to add your a la cart print pricing on your website so everything is transparent to your client.

Problem I already sent the new price list to the clients and me changing now might not be a good idea but I will add back the listing of my print prices. The main mistake I made was starting to low initially. My mistake. So im slowly every year increasing.

People are cheap everywhere. It's up to us as professionals to set the industry standard higher. Obviously you have to do what you feel comfortable doing, and you can't overnight raise your prices dramatically and expect your past clients to be able to refer you to their friends. But your prices are very low! People looking for high quality photographers aren't doing it on Craigslist, and I'm afraid if I saw your price sheet I'd lump you into that same category. It just doesn't inspire confidence in your experience.

I would never advertise on creigs list but my prices are going up every year. I made the mistake of initially 4 years ago starting to low and did not correct it soon enough. So incrementally correcting it each year. Your in the city of Denver much different than a small town over an hour away from the city.

As discussed earlier in the tread. I consider this thread over with. Every thing is now situated with 2012 pricing. in 2013 it will be reassessed and adjusted as needed.
