Thats cool and all, but all the image testing I have seen the 5d MK1 is about 1/2 to 1 stop better high iso noise than the 20D. The 60D and 7D are about 2 stops. I really do not want to buy a a now 6 year old camera atm.

Almost have enough saved up for the 60D refurbished with the canon loyalty program. So it will be 628$ I believe. I have decided on getting the following with it.

Vello 60D battery Grip - I have read it is very very close to canons and helps balance the camera to make it feel more solid. + i would have to have my wrists at a weird angle when shooting portrait. Although iv good good at that over 6 years.

Vello BG-C6 Battery Grip for Canon 60D BG-C6 B&H Photo Video

Review: Vello Battery Grip Verily I Say Unto Thee...

2x 16 gig Lexar Professional class 10 400x cards. That should be enough for what 500-1000 raw files? Learned my lesson with kingston or any off brand.

Lexar 16GB SDHC Memory Card Professional Class LSD16GCTBNA4002

An extra battery...Although I'm pondering on an off brand.
Canon LP-E6 Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery Pack 3347B001 B&H

Once we get our tax refund I'm placing the order. I plan to have the camera before the wedding I'm shooting end of May. I really am tempted to get a battery grip for my canon 20D also..

My wife said if I was much much busier that it would make since to get a higher end body but until the business picks up this will do. Last year after doing taxes after all the business expense i only came out with about a 1000$ profit. very very sad. Although I lost most of my receipts. So it is much much less. I would probably say closer to 500 or 400. If you add in milage even less.

For a good cropped sensor go for the 7D. But prices have never been lower on 5DMKIIs and Nikon D700 bodies too!

Default I own a canon 7d

I have been shooting with the 7d for little over a year now and I love this camera! It's not a full frame, but it's not a big deal for me because I do a lot of portrait work. Plus I love that I can wirelessly control my 580 flash. Great camera!

Ya 7D would be my main choice but it is out of my price range now. I would like to have the new camera by may. So it looks like I am going with the 60D the ISO tests were exactly the same of very close. So it is perfect for what I want to do. Compared to my 20D 800ISO = 3200 iso on the 60D. I can get it for 639 via the canon loyalty program. Gives me money for extra batteries, a battery grip, and cards. So what I am going to do is get the 60D and in a year or 2 get a 7D MKII or a 5D MK II or III if business picks up enough. Those bodies should be out by then. So when I get one of those my 60D will become backup.

I've recently bought a 7D, and I've got a 60D and I'll say for certain that the high ISO performance of the 60D is better than the 7D. The actual noise is about the same, but the 7D has lots of pure white speckles at random around the image at high (1250 +) ISO.

I noticed it after a days shooting with it and returned it thinking the copy i had was bad, but the second version taken from a completely different batch (I made sure) has the same issue. Checked around the net and its a common complaint.

the 7D is awesome for shooting fast action, but the 60D has very clean ISO, so if i had to choose, I'd go with the 60D anyway. Its got a good AF system (unlike the 5Dmkii, yes its really bad) and 5FPS is plenty fast for shooting people.
