This isn't your standard website question.
I'm actually building a Flickr App. Make that built. I have an alpha which I'm hoping to turn into Beta this weekend. I built it based on the question "How do _I_ want to visualize images. Now that I've done that I wanted to ask. If you're on flickr, how do you browse? Do you use something like Flickr River / Fluidr? Do you flail clumsily, wondering how you got to the picture you're on? Is there anything you would want to be part of your browsing experience. And if you're reading this but don't use FLickr, but do use something else like 500px, do you have any thoughts? I appreciate any input, thanks for your time!

Do you have Flickr's permission to use their content?
I don't use Flickr River / Fluidr (never heard of them), nor do I flail clumsily. Flickr is very well designed, and their app is pretty good too. What are you proposing to do with your app besides browsing photos? What are you proposing that the actual flickr app doesnt offer?

Yes, Flickr has a set of services to allow its images to be shown in different ways. You need to get a key from them, and need the approval of the user who is logged in.

The first part isn't browsing, but more about interacting. When you log on to flicker, the home page is very loud. You see these little tiny pieces of your contacts / friends pictures, at 100x100. All this really tells me is that mom uploaded some kinda picture, I see a kid in it, can't tell a whole lot. What I have going right now (I'd post screenshots, but I don't like the UI,it's the one thing I need to fix before Beta) is one continuous page, your friend / contact's photos in order of when they were uploaded. This part is sort of like what flickr is doing, but you see a larger initial shot of the picture, and have in front of you the ability to interact with the picture, by either writing a comment inline, or marking it as a favorite. This is pretty well step one.
