Default Photography show/exhibition

I have secured my first show/exhibition at a local coffee house. I will be exhibiting traditional art and photography. I am waiting back from the mgmt to see how soon he would like me to do it. I am thinking very, very soon. Possibly in a week. I am new to this as this is my first one. I am reading all I can. I would like any and all advice anyone may have. I am very excited but I want to be prepared. Here are some questions I have. Thank you all for your input.

This place is pretty dark, are they supposed to supply the lighting?

What sizes of prints should I display?

How many pieces should I have?

Anything else..links..advice?

Thanks!!

Well done on getting the space.

Your questions are a bit "how long is a piece of string" though.

Lighting - the venue should be doing any lighting, they are not going to change their lighting from normal if the exhibition is in the normal seating area. I don't really think they would appreciate your re-wiring or having trailing cables and lights all over the place.
If it is dark then adjust what you display to suit. (the subjects).

Size - again depends on the space given and how many you are displaying.

Amount - again - how much space is there? You do not want to crowd the space with too many. How long are you displaying for? if longer than a couple of weeks then look to change the display at the midpoint.
If you are expected to supply extras for sale on the premises then a couple of each of those on display should do it.

I assume you have visited the premises and got all the measurements etc. You can then plan a layout on your pc.

Most though is down to your discussions with the owners/manager.

Great question! I'm showing my work for the first time at a coffeehouse in May. Krusty's links are very helpful and I'm looking forward to hearing any other advice!
