Yes i plan on creating a word bank as i go. Since it is a new idea i have a lot of exploring to do for the "letters" still yet lol. But it is a fun project!

Yeah it's pretty cool. There was a shop here that did them - just them, nothing else, it went under pretty quick :P lol But no, good idea, especially if you market it online.
Personally, I'd have an image creator. Maybe 10-20 of each letter and the buyer gets to put together whatever they want with which ever styles they want.

There was a guy offering this at a flea market a couple of years ago. Guy had about 10-15 different pictures for each letter you could choose from.
My wife thought it was a good idea and thought I should do something like that...I thought it seemed like a lot of work... Good luck with it though. :

Yeah i wouldn't want to do it exclusively and set up a booth or anything like that! I already provide children/family portraits in my area and just another service i can provide. But actually a lot less work than portraits in my experience lol. I'm just doing it as i receive request though for now, so far it is just a stop on the side of the road on the way to town and get images i've needed. i would say getting 10-15 of each letter ensuring different styles would take a while to work up lol. thank you for your comments

Mainly for me it was just another way to market myself with photography as a service and offering something the competition in my area isn't yet. I think in photography these days creativity and new ideas is a must to keep interest. I've noticed i'm gaining a new genre of clients from it, so i'm pleased
. Plus then i can offer it as an option for a header type of photo for a family session wall collage in a set. I already supply pictures of several design layouts of sizes for groupings/framed pics to my clients when they order, and what sizes go well with each other. I've seen an increase in sales since i started that! People a lot of times don't know what to order because they can't visualize what sizes will look good on a wall. i give them the visual and a lot of times they say---yes i want my wall to look like that one! I can offer this as a header for a grouping to finish off the wall as well.Just another marketing strategy lol. not a get rich quick scheme or anything haha. Just addnig another service / option to my customers (but an extra sale is an extra sale lol)
