Default Help?

Hi,

I recently had the opportunity to shoot a MMA match for a friend. The photos came out so well some of the promoters are going to ask me to start taking photos at future events. They are going to ask what my fee will be and I don't know what to tell them. Can any of you tell me what I can tell them and how to sell photos to participants? Please forgive me for my lack of knowlege. Please let me know if I can help.

Ronin.

They'll take advantage of you if its illegitimate offer from real MMA promoters.

Are you able to share those photos on here?

Default Help?

Hi,

I was taking photos of one of the top fighters who is also a friend. After the last match he told me the pics were so good the promoters who I have met want to ask me to come start shooting future fights. What should I do in the event they give me a call?

How many shots do you have that you love from MMA matches? I would compile your best shots and print them for a portfolio presentation, or have it ready to show in a slideshow on a ipad or laptop, but again only your best work that relates to the potential clients. If you don't have many or much, or even if you're not confident in being able to work for the client just be upfront with them and let them know you're still learning and if they gave you a press/media pass and about unlimited access then you can work with him on passing along limited license to use the photos for non-commercial purposes like for press purpose only.

Chris is right. You need to put together a professional book or slideshow together to show the promoters. If you walk in with a handful of prints, they aren't going to take your seriously.
