Hello everyone,
I'm just starting out and am putting a website together. Will be moving in June and plan to go the whole hog them and buy a domain name etc, and am currently working on a logo and on making it maybe slightly less wedding photography heavy, but would appreciate your comments on my website as it is now, so as to improve it to the max before June! Thanks! ![]() AnnaJoyPhotography |

You have a good start, however, you need to get rid of every soft (not sharp) photos and there are quite a few. One bad photo will drag rest of those in your categories down.

As somebody in the process of creating a photography website I very much appreciate your new website. Very simple and sweet. Great job! I had a small question if you dont mind? What kind of features did you look at when choosing Weebly over other sites/programs like Wix.com, Wordpress, Dreamweaver?

I really like the simple format, color scheme, and ease of use. However, I agree with Jim- I looked at the portrait section, and it seemed like a mix between photographs and snapshots. You have quite a few good ones in there, but there are also some that are out of focus, distracting background, or the color is off (that might be my monitor, though). If it were a blog, I'd say keep them. But for a website, I'd rather see 5 really great portraits than 25 so-so. Maybe get an objective opinion on which ones to keep, because you definitely have some great ones. Great start!

Mine has just gone live too - it is sooo exciting isn't it?
The first thought was the 'create a free site' bit at the bottom. When you launch properly I would see if you can go ad free as it makes you look less than professional. Are the galleries Flash? Do you have another option? I think I am right in saying that Flash doesn't run on mobile hardware such as Iphones, Ipads etc. White writing on a black background is harder to read that the other way around. I am finding your 'About Me Page' hard to read. Also have you got a spam protector on your contact page? I made a couple of pitiful websites a few years ago and was bombarded by Spam who found my address on my site. They then hijacked my email and sent out spam 'from me'. That is very common sadly. If you have a look at Google Adwords, you will be able to start optimising for search engines. It will show you the most popular search terms for you in your area. Building these into your page titles and text will help you pop up in the search engines. I would also strongly advise having your contact details on every page so when people decide to pick up the phone or mail you, the info is under their nose. ![]() Good start and good luck (and with the move)
