I have been looking at some Canon cameras and portable printers....I would just like to know if there are any with and recomindations ....
thank you in advance for taking the time to respond...
I'm going to go off the beaten path here, though I think the OP has fled the building.

To put this into context, I shoot dog sports and pet portraits for a living.

I realize you're talking about other subjects / locations as well, but a lot of this will apply anyway.

The big issue you're going to have with a shoot/view/sell model is POWER at a lot of locations. That could be partially solved by using a laptop as a viewing screen and or adding some thing like a Vagabond Mini or other light weight inverter. Neither of those solutions will power a printer for very long though. I've gone back and forth on this many times (even with power on location) and have found that the best solution is to sell the photos on the spot, but print and mail later.

Another issue is that showing up at a dog park and shooting to sell (or shooting at all really) is often prohibited by park rules and local ordinances. You can probably get away with it most of the time, but many parks prohibit anything beyond letting your dog have a romp.

For the mechanics of it, I recommend either shooting tethered wireless or multiple cards that will allow you to download while continuing to shoot.

A few hints that may help you along the way:

1. The words are "equipment, viewing and recommendations." Want to be a pro, write (and spell) like a pro. the occasional typo is one thing, but you missed some of those in both your posts.

2. Rookie + want to go into business = (usually) recipe for failure unless that desire is tempered by a lot things like business knowledge and objective review of your work.

Let's see some samples of your wonderful "pics" and artistic eye.

lol, sorry had to get in on this. For what it's worth I have had nothing but good experiences with the people here on the DPS forums.

Default Rookie

I've been shooting for about four years. I thought I knew my camera well, and felt brave enough to attempt a wedding shoot this past weekend. Probably 75% of all my shots were crap. The rest were not good but passable enough to fool most photography illiterate people.

You're probably better than I am, but what all the other guys are saying is not to over estimate your own abilities until you've had the opportunity to work under pressure. That said, I think your pictures will depend 90% on you and 10% on your equipment, so don't get too hung up on what you've got.

The important bit is that you enjoy what you're doing.

You know....photography is more about than setting your cameras to "P" or "A" mode and capturing decent shots most of the time. Like I said...it's not the equipment, but the eye, experience and knowledge being the camera.
