Still doing the photography part-time, I constantly struggle with my pricing. My husband constantly tells me "set the prices and stick to it"! I know he's right, but I find it hard (and hope I'm not the only one) to stick to the prices when people constantly complain.
Lately I've re-evaluated my digital file pricing. Instead of a lump sum of say $500 for all images from the shoot (20-30), I considered pricing them individually: $35 each for 1-9, $31.50 each for 10-19, $28 each for 20+. I'd like to know anyone's thoughts on these options. Do you find it more useful to do the large lump sum, which in my case would be less lucrative but possibly simpler? Or do you find individual works better to give more options? Or do you hate the thought of selling the digital files for portraits in general? Thank you so much for your help! |

If you're customers aren't complaining, you are not charging enough!, As Fuzzy said, check other locals out and be competitive, but don't undersell yourself.
