Default first time photo sesson- what to charge?

Hi everyone!

My neighbour owns a landscaping business and saw some photos on facebook that I'd taken. He's asked me to go with him to the yards he's done and take some photos for his website and the upcoming Home and Garden show in our city. I've never done photos for money, so I have absolutely no idea what to charge.

He's going to drive me to the locations, so it won't be my own gas or car milage. I'm not sure if he'll just want all of the photos on a disk or if he'd like me to get a few printed for him, or both. I'm sure there will be a small amount of editing to be done on my part. Any ideas or suggestions?

This video is not for you. This is your first time, with a nikon coolpix, with presumably no tax ID, insurance, or anything like that. Do it for $50 under the table, and be happy you get that.

Totally agree with this.
Chris, sticking that link in reply to every question about price is not actually helpful.

The op on this one is not running a photography business, has minimal cost and is doing this as a favour to a neighbour.

Minimum that should be charged is costs of any processing plus some "pocket money".
