I would not take out a loan for a Photography Startup. One good person to follow regarding this is the Photographer Zack Arias. If you have ever watch one of his seminars he goes over this. When he first started in the 90s he took out loans bought all the equipment he thought he needed and then tried to grow his business and FAILED. He lost his house destroyed his marriage. It basically ruined him. The next time in the 2000 he was at a dead end job at dominoes pizza his buddy wanted him to help with a wedding. He lent him a nikon camera with a 50mm lens. From there he started peice by peice. One think he makes a point to say is expand as you expand as in. Don't just buy everything you need up front. One good tip I leaned from him is buy 1 pice of equipment. force your self to use it for 6 months before buying something else. That way you learn it and your craft is being built based on you skill and experience and not your equipment.
You can have the best plan in the world that that bank will believe, but if your experience, artistic experience, or clientell are not there it will fail and you will be in a debt hardship that would not be easy to get out of.

I think it comes down to the plan to be honest. You need a solid plan. See I took out a loan for less than the guaranteed amount I would be making and it's been fine, I certainly wouldn't have had the funds to start otherwise. On the other hand, my dad started his business; he didn't take out a loan and tried to build it up bit by bit, buying only what he needed or could afford - now he's really struggling and told me the one thing he's learnt is that he should have bought everything he needed up front.

Lol Bio.
And yepp lol, but it took me a second to notice at first too. I started at the first post and I was getting this deja vu Matrix vibe going on. I kept saying, "I've been here before..." Then I looked at the dates lol.
