Default CL Ad..... Let the games begin

My wife is from a smaller community a couple hours out of town. She has requested that I start advertising in that area so when I am out working, she can visit friends & family. So, I figured what the hell, no problem trying to keep my own bride happy and posted an ad on Kijiji (like CL).

The ad shows it has been viewed over 100 times, but generated only 5 visits to my website from that area. Although I was not expecting to generate any business from this ad, I find it kinda disheartening that I suck that bad at making an ad, that no one wants to see what I am about

My work has been word of mouth, and I don't do CL ads. Like I said, I don't expect jobs from it and I feel I am over priced for what CL customers are looking for. That aside, since I don't list price in the ad, I am wondering what has prevented them from coming to my website to then be turned off by either my work, my price or my attitude.

That is an screen capture of the old ad....

Might as well ask for some critique for both the verbage and the collage I have posted and see what sort of feedback I get, because I have obviously dropped the ball somewhere.

It's not the verbiage or the ad itself, it's you damn ATTITUDE!!
All kidding aside, if you can insert HTML into the description make your website a clickable link, as it is now they have to either type it in or copy/paste...more work for lazy assed people.. also a call to action may help, give the viewr a reason to click that link! "Click today for special pricing!!", make this a link to a new page you create on your site, throw some sort of specail offer there as well as a way for them to easily contact you from that page...you gotta get'em while the gettin is good!

hope this helps...

I have done it with CL, but no way I can find to make it work in Kijiji unfortunately.

That embedded picture seems little small, and with that in mind, as a collage with a coloured and patterned background it feels very busy and hard to look at. Is that the only size you can come in at? I think if you wanted to stick with that design it would need to be much bigger... or just go with a plain black field which may show off the images a little more effectively...

edit looked at the larger size, and it's still a bit too busy for my tastes.

Good idea.... maybe I will go with 2 or 3 separate images that they can scroll through.

Does the album sorta border piss you off, or just the amount of images?

Apparently they do not allow HTML in the ad's, so shit out of luck there..

It's both the colour and designs on it I think... if you have the option of posting few different shots discretely, I would go that way.

Bearing in mind that at first glance some people won't click on the button to make it bigger, it's a lot of stuff crammed into the space of a postage stamp.

I took down the old ad and put a screen capture in place of the link in the OP

Here is what I have done now: Wedding Photography - Bracebridge & Surrounding Area - Muskoka Photography & Video Services - Kijiji Muskoka Canada.
