Default Getting Started Wh Rebel T2i

Hello all!
I am purchasing the Going Pro kit. I plan to turn my chef career into part photography and writing career (food related.)
I don't have much in start up funds, but I do have my trusty Canon Rebel T2i. I have heard there is a lot of functionality built into that body.
In your opinions, what is the feasibility of earning with the Rebel until I have capital built up to buy a bigger DSLR model?
Should I just worry about buying glass to start?

Glass is important. You aren't in a hurry and don't need to be able to change settings, like autofocus from single to continuous, in a hurry when photographing food. Your camera will be fine for that. The glass will make a big difference in micro-contrast and sharpness, as well as different perspectives. Moreso than glass, though, learning the art of photography is where I'd put my money. An expensive camera doesn't take better pictures.

You can do it with the Rebel, but as "i speak in math" said above, lenses will be more important than upgrading to a 7D for example.

Most food shots you do will be staged and lit, so for most shots you can stick with ISO 100 and you don't need a camera that has a high ISO performance, or can take loads of shots per second and so on.

I would perhaps get a couple of prime lenses, simply because you will get sharper images for less money. Perhaps an EF 85mm, and/or even a 1:1 macro lens for close ups.
