Default Private Land Photography

When asking a company if you can have their permission to photograph on their private land, in particular images of their buildings, do you offer sweeteners?

I'm currently knocking up an email asking TAG Aviation if I can get on to their private airport to take images of their spectacular buildings. Before I send it off I want to maximise my chances of them saying yes, so I thought I would seek further help from you guys.

Sure. Tell them you want to get some images of their facilities and will give them a cut rate on the photos. If you tell them that you'll do it for free is only hurting those photographers who's contracted with them in the past who actually get hired and paid for their services.

Jim, I was looking at low res images for their website and possibly a large print for them to hang.

I am on the transition from taking images as a hobby to becoming a semi-pro tog! I need to build up a professional portfolio so I can make the best of what I like to do. So would like to make the offer as sweet as possible.

I understand where your coming from about not hurting other past hired togs.

Im not sure its a requirement here in the UK. I dont think there has been a president set. But I may look in to it just in case I do sell the images.

If it's likely that the images will end up being used in advertising, then I would get a release. Also if you plan to sell via stock agencies (who often sell worldwide) you will need a release as the stock agency will require it and won't accept such images without one.
