Hello,
I was recently hired to take some headshots for a law firm for there new website - the website is not live yet - it's in the web designers hands. I have been paid for this job, my hourly rate and delivery of the images. The other day I recieved a request from one of the partners, that his wife would like to purchase a print from me as she was fond of his portrait. Is there anything against me selling this print, as I was originally hired to take the portraits for another purpose? Advice anyone?

Pretty much this. If anything, ask the person with which you signed the contract (like Sr Partner, or his secretary) and see if it's okay. I doubt they'd say no.

Did you sign anything limiting your use or giving away the copyright? For my own clients, I have an agreement that they sign (it also serves as the receipt for payment) that lists what they can do with the pictures and what I can do with them. If you didn't get one before shooting the photos, you may want to get one now. After that, sell away.
