Default Building a Team... Tips?

I really want to build a team for my photography, but I have yet to get my first paid customers, should I wait until I have learned to run my own thing for now or wait until I have some reliable folks to work with me in a team. I prefer to have a team cause it would let me concentrate on the important factors of my business that I think I would be best to focus on (excluding the photography part). I want to only focus on the actual shoot photography for clients, and oversee the rest of the aspects like consultation, post. And I could work much better in the marketing and advertising and getting big clients which will be primarily focused on commercial business clients.

good point, if I get much more experience and established then I could charge higher premium rates to afford to pay a team and of course to meet a higher demand as right now I don't have any yet. I wish I could just build a for trade team (students, or wanna be's) and teach them with experience maybe?

LOL, that's a great way to #1 teach your competition, and #2, make sure you get a reputation for hiring wannabe's and hacks.

Dude.. you're soooooo far ahead of yourself. You're likely to need a lot of clients regularly before you'll even start thinking of a "team"...

..but I hope I'm wrong.

Now, if you're talking about a network of 2nd shooters to assist you (for free/cheap), that's another thing entirely.

I think you are trying to run before you can even crawl let alone walk.

You have not even had a paying customer and you are talking about building a "team".

You build a team when you have enough regular business to warrant it.
If you do so before you even have any paying customers then you will need enough funds behind you to not only pay for your own costs but also the salaries of the "team" for a year at a minimum.
