not sure how much is known about art licensing, it is another way to make money with photography on the global market, similar to stock photography but different. A collection of 22 of my water drop images have gone global as screen savers at Second Nature Software On-Line Store Home Page
wish me luck.

And just how much of that 5.55usd for 22images do you actually make?
That's .25 cents for each image before that website takes it's cut.

Royalties are paid at 10% of retail sales, could be a little or a lot depending in this case on the # of downloads , money is made by volume ( this is a world wide market so 10,000 down loads is considered average) and every image can be licensed again, and again to other co.s as long as it is for a different use .Royalties are paid after the fact for as long as your work is being sold by a co.The royalties will be a + as I can still continue to sell them whole sale to Gift shops & retail from my site, and shows that I do.
I am only starting out in the Art Licensing but my agent has been at it for 25+ years. The screen savers also act as an advertisement for my work on a world wide level and are linked back to my site . I could never afford on my own. Art licensing can make you a lot of money but there are no guarantees it depends on how it does on the retail market. Fingers Crossed

For your work, I'd skip the "global market" and go the fine art route. Craft fairs, limited edition prints, selling in local businesses etc...

Just me, but short of wallpapers and screensavers, your stuff is very "art like", but limited in its potential as stock or advertising.

Thanks, yes you are right my stuff is considered fine art in the local market and is sold in 2 Art Galleries, and I exhibit in 1-2 other galleries each year.I wholesale to 20 Gift Shops. I do one Trade Show and 3 of the largest local Xmas shows and a 4 day home show each year, juried in as fine art .The Art Licensing Agent I have only places work in high end,so wall art (Canvas, prints & posters,) mostly. Screen savers are a place to start, it is mostly promotional but exciting as I only signed an Agent 3 weeks ago. He contacted me because he had seen my work on the net and he believes there is a global market for my work, heres to hoping he is right. The opportunity presented it's self and has cost me nothing so I am happy to take advantage of it. I am still in the local market and I have a computer full of files and can't print, stock and sell them all myself, I keep 80 prints on my site and am finding that to be a bit too much to stock, when I add a new ones some have to come down,I have lots to go around and the next is just a drop away.

If your volume is too high raise your prices, you'll make more with less labor.

Thank you when the demand passes the volume that will come in to play but for now I am working on the demand end of things .My business plan is based on getting my name and work out there , creating a brand that I am known for raising prices is not part of that plan for a while yet.
