Question Keeping it Simple and I need advice

After thinking up the most complicated and grandiose plan on how to make money with my photography...it became too complex. I had to slap myself and just start on the basics--in other words Keep it simple, stupid. So I started a basic blog. A blog to journal my experiences and progress to that grandiose idea. And I just did this yesterday.

I am still working on increasing the number of great photos in my portfolio and plan on sharing those on my blog. Eventually I am planning on actually taking portraits for actual people...maybe even make some money doing it.

Anywho, I was wondering if you guys/gals had any advice for just starting out specifically with blogging and transitioning to more.

Thank you

Eli

I recently had a few posts here regarding blogging.

Inquiring as to what "readers" want (in general) writing styles etc.
You should be able to find them with a quick search.

Eli...thank god you took that route. You chose wisely and step by step instead of hanging out your shingles prematurely as most do.
I, as a pro, I have to applaud you for choosing wisely taking the time you need.

I'm usually one to jump in head first but this time I decided to check out what I was jumping into a little more slowly. As I said, I have started my blog and that may be a chore on its own. On the photography side of things, I am still building my portfolio through taking pics of friends and family. Just yesterday, my friend asked me to take some pictures for her to give to her mother. For now, I'll just keep on keeping on.
