Default Stolen image helping sell report for $1225.00

I noticed on google analytics that one of my old images was getting a lot of hits so I google image searched it and found that its on the cover of a report for GlobalAutoIndustry.com that sells for $1225.00.

Here is the link
GlobalAutoIndustry.com WebShop

and my original (CC license, Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs)
https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/phot...KqJfrtvI9WKp9w

They have a contact us link that I was thinking of filling out -- Or should I just send them an invoice?

::EDIT::

1 get screen shots of the offending page
2. visit archive.org, to get screen shots of how long the image has been used
3.cease and desist, invoice and send a DCMA notice to the domains web hosting provider....then contact an IP attorney to collect on the invoice or threaten immediate legal action.

::EDIT:: if it's a registered image with the US copyright office , you can also collect damages, and attn. fees if it goes to court

+1 BuddhaPi, and I'd send them an invoice on your lawyer's letterhead!

+1 on everything. The lawyer letterhead would be quite a nice touch.

And I will add, if they don't believe you, just point to your reflection in the chrome.

Just a thought.

Possibly the copyright for that symbol/logo, in the photograph, is owned by Audi.

Not relevant: the image is what's being stolen, not Audi's logo.

I wonder how the owner of the trademark feel about other people making money by using their trademark.

I hope you do litigate. Create a blog and tell the world about your "adventure." It would possibly give hope to so many photographers who are in your situation. Who knows where it may lead. Could trigger a change in the laws.

I think I have seen somewhere that is not legal here (Aus) without permission and I would think especially when the main subject of the image comes under copyright and patent ownership. I can't imagine it being legal elswhere.

Carolyn Wright of Photoattorney.com is the person to go to. She may even take your case.
