I thought I saw it on here, a site where you offer up a price and some guidelines and people present logo design, brochure design etc.

You pick one and pay that person.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

It seems that I keep bumping into people who are looking for corporate design help and I thought the site that i had in mind was really neat but unfortunately didn't bookmark it.

As a graphic designer myself, that sounds like a horrible idea. Good for the client, bad for the designer. It's like hiring multiple wedding photographers, but you'll only pay the one whose pictures you like the best.

I guess if the designers are willing...that's their prerogative. Don't expect top quality work, though.

Yeah it's kind of a weird setup forsure. You wouldn't want to invest too much time because you might not get anything. But if you don't invest a certain amount of time you're basically setting yourself up for failure so why even bother.

But in short I agree that the quality will likely be lacking vs hiring an individual who knows that they'll be getting paid.

Regardless I find the idea of it interesting and think it may be suited to some which is why I'd like to have it bookmarked.

There is a site called Squad Help: Business Name Ideas, advertising slogans, usability testing, branding, get a freelancer that does what you mention. Worth1000.com does also. These are just 2 sites that I tend to peruse for ideas of my own.
