Default One or Two Business Cards

Just wanted to get your folks ideas about having a two sided business card. One displaying my portraits and weddings and such and another with real estate photographs.
Will people take me seriously if I show both sides or am I better off just having two separate cards. I also can see the benefit in letting everyone know I do both. I don't want to miss out on a wedding shoot because I handed a real estate agent my Real Estate only card. What are you thought? Here's my redesign of my portrait card so far....

Have separate ones for different targets. Portraits/weddings and real estate are two very different markets. If you want 2-sided cards, use the other for contact into (thus allowing you to make your images bigger: on a screen theyre plenty big, but on a card... those will be tiny)

Yeah that's what I figured! Send my card to the printers this morning. The photos are very small but the idea is conveyed I think. I printed at least 20 proofs trying to get the text just right.

You should go for two different card for two unrelated business....there is no connection between photography and real state business ....this will make negative impression..

Maybe I didn't specify. It's Real Estate Photography but yes as I stated above I have sent my card to the printers already

I use one very simple card (but well designed) that lists all my services. There are no images on it, only text and a logo that I designed. All my contact information is on the card including my website URL so they can see my work.

Why separate your work, your a photographer........period. The only time I focus on one type of product is when I am showing a portfolio to a client.

Argh...maybe I should have waited.... More people seem to be on my side of one card now I sent my order in for 250 cards each already! I guess I will be vigilant with distributing so that I can start over. I really like the idea of a simple card listing all my services! Sometimes it looks better to be a master at one skill than a jack of all trades but as you said a photographer is a photographer! Went with these....

Definitely separate your work, the last thing you want to be doing from a marketing viewpoint is overloading your customers with irrelevant information.

Personally, though, I just see a business card as a simple thing, with contact details, sized to fit in a business card holder, for people who want contact details they can put in their business card holder... In the future I may have these printed with photos on the back, but for now I don't see this as money well spent, as most of the time, the person will stick them straight in their holder before they even get the chance to see the back.

For actually trying to drum up business I use postcards, I can fit more photos on these as well as more relevant snippets of information about my services, much more impressive to a potential customer than someone who just has a business card.

yes i would say separate them, i do alot of weddings and i know that if i showed a bride a business card with wedding pics on one side and real estate on the other they would think it would be strange, people like to book those who "specialize" in what they are hiring for
