Hi,
I took some photographs for my local dance studio this weekend, and the owner wants to give a couple to the local newspaper for a article on his studio. I am quite happy for this but want to make sure that the newspaper does not have full rights. I do not want the photos used for anything else other than the article, and definitely not be able to offer prints to the public. How do I ensure this does not happen. Is there a sample contract, terms of use that I can use? He wants to hand them over this afternoon so any quick response would be helpful! Thanks in advance x sorry if this is in the wrong place! I have searched everywhere, and am running out of time! x:confused |

Hi, Im in the UK I have found a print release form and adapted it for my needs, hopefuly that will do it! Also, if I have the release form from the dance studio signed for me to use the photos in an online porfolio, do I need individual release forms from the students in the images?(most are under 16). I do not intend to sell them other than to the parents, but would like to add them to my portfolio. Thank you

I have all but given up trying to understand the rights of parents/ schools vs people with cameras.
Some people are only to happy to see little Emilia in the paper, other parents see it as a invitation to pedos I would suggest that it is up to the school to deal with that side of things as they commissioned the work and sent it for publication. (of course I may be wrong...) |
